| Does anyone know if Colt ever made the Official Police revolver in 38S&W? I inheirited one recently and it is stamped 38-200 (the British designation for 38S&W) on the barrel. I am just wondering what it is I have here. Thanks. |

| You've got a great old gun. Colt made a bunch of Official Police revolvers in .38-200 during WWII for sale to England and Canada. They sell for about $200 - $300 today, depending on condition. Colt also made a Parkerized .38 Spl. version called the Commando during the war. The Commando wasn't as well finished and most collectors like the OP's better. A pity that handguns are banned in England. Lots of collectors over there would love to get their hands on a historical gun like yours. |
