Exclamation FNC Rifle

The FNC rifle is one of the finest 5.56 rifles I have ever had in my hands. I shot one this past weekend. The rifle is accurate and has a gas piston operation akin to an AK or a Galil. As an added bonus, it accepts all AR/M16 magazines. The trigger group on this rifle is very similar to the SAW currently carried by our military. The only drawback was the trigger which was somewhat heavy. The trigger was smooth however, with no creep. The upper is stamped steel. The lower is aluminum alloy. The rifle has a flashider and a multi-port muzzle break, compete with a bayonet attachment, grenade launcher capability (and the sights). The rifle I shot was the pre-ban ('89) fixed stock model that was semi-auto. I understand that some FNC's that are in the US are class III transferable (pre '86) with select-fire capability and folding stocks.

The FNC is not as popular as the FN/FAL in the US.

The FNC is the rifle used by Al Pacino in the Michael Mann movie HEAT.
