Look I am not jumping on the band wagon. I never considered myself a racist.
I work at Home Depot. and everyday the illegals are lined up on the curb waiting to be picked up for a job. Most of them won't work for less than $10.00 an hour.
These illegals/criminals are going to bring this country to it's knees. They are destroying our health system and our welfare system.

not picking on you specifically..

maybe the problem is our system..welfare should only be available to citizens and only for short periods of time..say 6 months

Rufus my point about the difficulty of immagration is that it shouldn't be that hard for you or anyone else regardless of race and creed. If you have no serious crimes on record and you gain employment within a reasonable amount of time I am fine with giving those people Green cards. If they stay employed stay out of trouble and learn English within 5 years I would grant them citizenship. As for you use of racial slurs this is not the first time for you. I have freinds who are of Hispanic and Arab/Persian dissent and when you call them beaners and rag heads I am offeneded. I have asked you nicely before to knock it off. Rhufus I guess you are a saint. How many gun laws have you broken? I have broken quite a few out of ignorance and out of deliberation due to its moronic nature. The point is this: if you have no other means in which to be against illegal immigrants other than its the law then please bow out of this debate. How about take a stand and look beyond the color of the skin and look at the economic reasons for it. What if we got rid of all the illegals and the cost of goods and services went up 25%? Everyone would be whining. We should actually save money because of all the social welfare money we would save; but we all know that money would just get recycled into another freebie program so we really wouldn't save anything would we? And the cost for certain items would rise. The government CAN"T enforce the existing laws due to sheer numbers and money involved.

hmm...anyone got a good definition of racist? if each person would be honest with theirself i would bet that at least once in everyones life that definition would fit all of us. i believe its the nature of every living thing to favor their own kind ...i just believe we are all racist in one way or another whether we want to be or not.

Lord Shrike, I firmly believe that if Bush ordered the military to nuke the USA off of the planet, you'd probably spin it as some kind of great thing. Somehow you'd find a way to make it sound like a positive thing just because it was done by Bush.

Bush is rolling out the red carpet to reward the criminal activity of illegal aliens. Now how many people across the world are going to try to enter the country illegally? What is their incentive if they can just do it illegally any time they want to.

You should come down here to AZ and watch the local news for a few days. See how wonderful it is to have sky high car insurance rates because the illegals don't drive with any insurance and have them steal every other car. Watch them shoot at the police here and create car chases all the time, because they have nothing to lose. Yeah it sure is a boon to have all these criminals become a part of mainstream society...

While we're at it, why not just release all of the prisoners in the USA???

Lenny please calm down before your head explodes. I didn't say Bush's plan was perfect. In fact I said it needs to be followed up by cracking down on companies that hire illegals off the books, and makeing it easier for decent people to immagrate legally. I also think that we should take some common sense steps to help strengthen border security short of the military option which is fiscally counterproductive. I didn't say the plan was perfect but I don't think its the total disaster you think it is either. As for problems with illegals we have them up here to and we have the same problems with them as well. Probably not on the same scale as you admittedly. However those law breakers under Bush's plan aren't offered any protection. I don't think they should be either. They should be deported. If we can get the millions of hard working illegals on the books legally they are alot more likely to be willing to cooperate with law enforcement since the fear of deportation wouldn't be hangin over there heads. Oh and if Bush were to Nuke San Francisco, LA, Madison, Seattle & Portland well I don't now if I would support it but I might have a hard time argueing against it.
