Sigarms Trailside

Hello Everyone.

This is my very first post to this forum.
I didn't see a forum specifically for
Sigarms, and my question doesn't really
fit other specialized forums. If this post
will be better some place else, please let
me know.

I have a question about the Sigarms
Trailside 22 pistol.

Many of the photos I have seen online
show the gun with beautiful factory
laminate wood grips. But now it seem
that they are only available with basic
rubber grips, or a rubber competition
style grip.

Does anyone know what the story is?
I can't find the wood grips anywhere.
Were they only available on demo guns?

Thanks,

Dave

Welcome to G&G Sir!

Those grips have got to be available somewhere? I can't remember if Brownell's has a SIG factory parts listing in the back of their book, I'll check next time I'm out in the shop today. That would be the first thing to check, factory parts availability - if you have a local shop that's a SIG dealer check if he has a Trailside parts list?
It's kinda the same problem/scenario I had (have!) with my S&W 22S - mine came with the plastic and rubber pad grips but they have a nice set of laminated wood ones - which I found in the back of my Brownell's book in the factory parts list.
The problem part of this is that Shotgun Annie knows the profile of this particular pistol better than the rest of the group (the rest are all 1911's or variants so a little change here or there is not as easily noticed) If I slip those nice laminated pieces on the 22S she's gonna start the "routine".
Of course there are those here on the boards that are already thinking - "fortify your intestinal fortitude, order the grips, and take your A-chewin like a man Max"!

Sigarms has an online catalog. The wood grips for the Trailside are not listed.
I called Sigarms. Customer Service girl said they were discontinued.
I emailed Hammerli. They replied that they have no solution, and I should call Sig.
I can't even find out who originally made them for Hammerli.
(I'm making the assumption they didn't make their own)

I had hoped that some place would have some OEM grips, but so far I can only find
one place that sells ANY parts for the Trailside, but he has no grips other than the
rubber ones.

The only thing I can figure is the wood grips were special made for demo models.
