Thumbs up Excellent reading for the 1911 fan

My wife strikes again. Taking advantage of the employee discount at the magazine store she works at and knows what I like

I highly recommend G&A Book of the 1911. This is very well done with a lot of history and cool guns. Hard back quality content in a magazine price.

Hey Jerry, can you post an internet address or email for the publisher? I'd like to try to find that one!

Hi MAX7.62
This is a Guns and Ammo Mag. I found the # for customer service on their site

www.gunsandammomag.com

The # is 1-800-260-6397

If they can't help let me know, perhaps we can work something out.
B/R

Yeah, SIG! I just saw that in my latest American Rifleman "goodies for 2004" issue. 1911's are getting like Harleys - everyone was beating Harley up for being an outdated old design, and the next thing ya know all the japs are falling all over each other trying to make their copy/interpretation of a V-twin cruiser.
Seems like some of those "outdated old designs" still work and on a marketing level still make money for the companies that stamp 'em out! When Glock shows up with a 1911 clone I'm gonna be giving a whole bunch of my friends ribbing about that! Actually Kimber sorta beat them to it with the BP Ten II - plastic framed 1911 - I call 'em "Glockteen elevens!"

I bought it a couple of weeks ago. There is some good information in it, especially interesting was the historical section. I thought the section on the custom 1911s was the best part.
