| Space age muzzle flip-less carbine We see space age guns that basically have a big loop in front of the grip, found in real like only on the AUG. Well I had an idea.
Muzzle flip is caused by the barrel being on a higher axis than its support by the shooter. Not to do so would require a bit of engineering and a gun slightly longer than it would otherwise be.
A design of mine places the barrel on the same level vertically as the center of the hand. A trigger linkage links to a FCG located beneath the trigger (or perhaps above the action instead of below). It would look a little bit like a reciprocating saw.
This is basically the opposite of the bullpup, placing the action ahead of the grip instead of behind it, where it is normally above the grip in a modern military/police rifle. All this in order to accomplish zero muzzle flip.
Would be a good design for a full auto gun.
