Manually Powered Air Rifles

Wondering what out there doesn't need a CO2 cartridge but is powered by the user instead? Something that can be fired rapidly is best. Pump shotgun configuration would be ideal.

I am told they are. It would be really cool though to have pump powered ones though, at least I think so. No tanks to buy and fill. Make for a few more interesting competitions.

Exclamation

Manually pumped air rifles are still available - methinks Wally Mart has a couple models. But, their big limitation is in velocity and accuracy, especially at any distance.
The better quality barrel-cocking rifles are far more powerful, and reach out to greater distance with accuracy equalling a good .22 rimfire. Of course, you give up the fast-shooting capability.
Whatever you decide, try a few before you buy. The cheaper ones have very stiff triggers - not conducive to accuracy.

Thumbs up

My single shot, Chinese made, .177" air rifle's brand name is "Pellet Rifle", and is sold by Cummin's Tools. It's a hand pump rifle powered by a spring. Shoots well for me. It'll rip a coke can end out at about 30 yards. I've zeroed in the sights till it's pretty accurate.
