Match Sar 48 I picked up a Springfeild Armory Match SAR 48 in November while home on leave from Iraq. I got it from an estate sale, the owner sold military type weapons to police forces. This was a display/show rifle and was new never fired with a Springfeild Armory 3x9 scope with a reticle that adjusts up and down for your range, with a max range up to 900m. It is based on a FAL with a long match heavy barrel and bipod behind the flash suppressor.
Any questions I sent to Springfeild resulted in no responce. About the scope or the rifle, as nothing they currently produce is anything like them. How long did they produce both these and when? Any one know? As I have only seen one since and they wanted Alot more that what I payed for mine. And that one dident have the Springfeild scope or mount just the iron sights
I know the original idea by FN was for it to function as a squad automatic rifle but had the same problem as our BAR. High rate of fire and small magizine capasity (20) rounds. So that model was not as successful, compaired to the basic FN/FAL.
Any help on this Springfeild Armory model SAR/FAL would be great, thanks.
