I think they could have done without the hinge check piece. It would have probably been better to just have an opening in it for the arm of the bolt to slide back and forth. It would just be a little harder to load it. Still, I kinda like it and at only that price, it isn't a bad modification if you are into modifying your Mosin. You also don't have to drill and tap anything for a scope or cut up the original rifle OR need to get a bent bolt for a "sniper" scope setup. If I had all the other guns I wanted right now, I would probably get one just to play with it and see how it worked.
