None of them. Caliber size is not big enough to suit me.

Whoosie's! I guess they figure most people can't handle bigger calibers. Narrow thinking.

Yeah I understand that. But to have insurance to shoot someone with a certain caliber? That's what doesn't make sense. What difference is it if LEO uses any of the many standard handgun calibers from .38 spl. to .45 acp? Or for that matter, undercover agents using the diminative .380 or the such like?

i voted for the 229 in 40. if i were to get a sig in 9mm it would have to be the p210, the finest 9mm semi made.

I don't make the rules and laws I just try to live by them
btw I like the 239 because of concealability Shaun after all..auxiliary duty is volunteer work 12 hours a month..but I can carry whenever I want as long as I follow the laws governing concealed carry :guitar:

Hi Logansdad, your question is almost impossible to answer as it is. All the current models of Sigs are excellent weapons. To answer your question YOU have to determine the use, caliber, concealability, size, weight, sights, ability/experience and even how you will carry it off/on duty. I'm lucky in my department in that I can carry pretty much any semi-auto pistol as long as it matches the required calibers and I can qualify with it. I currently carry a Magnum Research .45 on duty but stick to my trusty old Colt 1991A1 off duty. I suggest you go to the best gun shop you have in town and try as many different sized pistols that they have in your caliber, see how it feels on your belt or shoulder holster and when you find one that feels comfortable then ask around your department & see if anyone has one. I'm sure you'll find someone & they'ld probably take you out to the range to try it. Hope this helps.

LD if you get the 226 you can buy the Safariland SSIII Holster I have for the 220 as they should fit.

I am really tempted by the factory refurbished Sig 226 and Glock 9mms I see advertised in the Shotgun News..even though I voted for the 239 in .40 S&W caliber

If you can't use a Sig 220 in .45 cal then get the 226 in ether caliber. I have a 239 in 9mm and it's pretty light when it comes to recoil. I suspect a 239 in .40 S&W would be harder to control. My 220 is more comfortable to shoot, but the 239 is easier to carry/conceal. Keep us posted on your choice. Is it possible to test fire your possible choices before you buy. There is an indoor range here that has several Sigs that can be rented.
