It's ridiculous in Illinois when it comes to duck hunting. Wait until opening day. It's a wonder more people are not killed. Never saw so many rude hunters until I hunted Grass Lake in northern IL.

Il is a whole different world below I-80. The people are all good hard working honest & polite where we hunt. Chicago lawyer types don't last long. There are some good people up that way, yourself included Scott. Your just out numbered. Come on down sometime for a nice relaxing hunt & I won't let you get shot :right: |

Thanks Jerry. After hunting the back waters of the Intercoastal Water Ways in Tx I have become spoiled. Birds everyday, there is no "bad" day. Long season and the best part. many different species

Jerry you want to see doves? Come to Mexico with me. From a distance the maze fields seem to move and sway. Millions of them. You shoot so much that you can't keep an auto loader loaded. And to shoot it so much the gun becomes too hot to handle. When I was at the pool bar partaking of a cool beverage this walks up. Big guy with a full face beard and says he just flew in from Spain and was headed home to AK and he wanted to know how the bird shooting was. After I told him he politely said that he did not know me and did not want to call me a lair. So I says, OK if it is not as good as I say and more then I'll but you and your lovely wife dinner tomorrow. And if it isn't then you have to buy the drinks for me and my compadres. Next day at the pool he approaches us with a large bandage on his face and asks us what we were all drinking. Over a cold one he tells about his day in the field and how he shot and shot and could not keep the gun loaded. He said he has traveled all over the world and has never seen anything like it. After the second cold one curisosity got the better of me and i asked about the bandage that was on his face, knowing that it wasn't there the day before. As he peels back the bandage to to display this raw peice of hamburger with no whiskers on it he says that he shot so much that the gunstock pulled out all his whiskers. True story.
