| Finally took that Bersa .22 out, And I have to say I had a blast. I shot 50 Remington Yellow jackets out of it, and kept them all in a 3" grouping at 10 yards. I also picked up a "new" deer rifle this weekend. A Springfeild 1903. I had to sacrifice my Marlin 336W for it (money is tight right now), but I think the up-grade is worth it. It's my first gun with a scope on it so my grouping was a little erratic, but I kept most of my shots on target.

| Cool! Is the '03 in full GI dress, or sporterized? Once you get it dialed in, you've got one great deer rifle. Glad to hear the little Bersa is performing well. Every shooter needs one good twentytwo pistol.

| I "bought" the 03 already custamized; scope mount, monticarlo stock, "Limbsaver" recoil pad, custom magazine well door...all kinds of neat toys. I have a High Standerd Trophy Edition too, but thats a little to much gun for just plinking, I use that for muskrats and groundhogs mostly.

| Is it a Thunderstorm 22? I am looking for a short 22 to carry around with me while I am fly fishing for snakes. I hate snakes! And there are a lot of Copperheads around here. I have been very curious about the Bersa Thunderstorm 22. The 38 is about the same as far as I know and I love the feel of it. Solid little pistol. |

| The Bersa .22 is the same frame as the .380. The guns are identical, except for the caliber. In my opinion your best bet would be a Ruger single six with a four and five eighths barrel. I think it would suit your needs much better. It's still small enough to carry in your pocket and the longer barrel will give you more accuracy.

| I already have a Ruger Mark 2 in lay-away right now. Stainless Bull barrel in 5 1/2". But for this I am going to need a smaller 22 that I will probably be loading with bird shot. I know that bird shot doesn't load well in semi-auto pistols. And I really don't need a Deringer. That would be to dangerous to hold in a pocket. |

| yep snub nosed 38 with bird shot something cheap like a charter arms or an even cheaper amzcor revolver they are under $100.00. loaded with bird shot makes a geat snake gun.

| The Bersa has a recoil based cycling system. So you need high velocity rounds for optimum preformance. I don't believe snake shot comes in high velocity .22. The Bersa would probably stove pipe with the snake shot. They do make in the pocket holsters for Deringers, but I would realy consider a small revolver.

| Point taken. Any one have some suggestions and links to what might fit my bill a little better? I don't really want to spend a whole lot seeing as how I already have a Mark 2 in lay-away, $200 being an absolute max. $100 sounds a little nicer. |

| It's hard in summer to find a .22 pistol (they're very popular this time of year). You're best bet is to call around and ask for a used one in you're price range. Try pawn shops as well as gun shops, and check you're local news papers in the for sale adds. I got lucky, mine is in the book for $250, and I picked it up for $140. Factory direct is gonna cost you. One last word of advice: stay away from Jennings, they really suck.
