I viewed the photo. It's bad, but it could have been so much worse. I wonder if the big bone there in that part of the hand was damaged, or only the flesh? There will certainly be some nerve damage, but he should regain the use of his fingers eventually if there wasn't any damage to tendons. Therapy will probably be painful, but it will be worth all the effort when he can squeeze a tennis ball again. I sure hope it works out well for you Jay. The best of luck to you during your recovery. I got my hand cut badly when I put it through a glass door once, lots and lots of stitches and one cut came really close to the arteries in my wrist, it exposed them, but didn't cut them. That was rough, but those glass shards weren't moving at a thousand feet per second.
