Thumbs up Dancing with my Spanish Lady again . . .

I had off from work today, so I went to the range. It was pretty windy, so I couldn't do much rimfire shooting. Not they way I like - 50 yards with peep sights, and 100 yards scoped. I managed one 1/2inch group at 50 with the old Winny75-T - on a good day, it'll do that at 100 yards! Oh well - time to make noise!
Started with the Yugo SKS, using some Ulyanovsk white-box ammo I had bought at the last gunshow. It did pretty fair - a good two inch grouping using the open sights. Didn't bring the scope mount, so I didn't shoot it at 100 yards. That's just a bit far for my eyes.

CETME Time!
Finally, I unlimbered my Spanish Lady. I had also gotten some of that Indian .308 ammo everybody calls crap. The vendor had sorted thru it - removed any that was obviously bad. The brass was a bit tarnished, but no dings or bad necks.
I cracked off the first shot a bit heasitantly - Bang! A nice hole in the paper - a bit right. I tweaked the 4.5-14X40AOscope.
A few more shots, and I had it dialed in for the 100 yard target.
I was shooting off an open tripod rest - and I wasn't too very steady. I was tired and hot by now.
After fifteen rounds, half were well centered in about a three inch circle, the others scattered low and right. My fault.
I got curious, and loaded the five round mag with the five remaining rounds, and locked the gun in my el-cheapo plastic clamp-rest.
It's a bit more solid now. I shoot the five rounds - not a bobble yet! Checking the shots - four inside 3/4 inch, with the fifth making it 1.25 inch! Dayum! That's my best ever group out of this gun!
The POI was about four inches lower than from the open rest - I have had this happen with other guns too. I couldn't believe that group! And this from the cheapo "Indian POS" ammo. Glad it shoots this good - I bought 400 rounds of it!

Nice shooting with the CETME BigDog. I have seen these for a while, but no one around me has one. I really like the look and feel of it. I have seen one at my local gunshop,Hummm... I might check it out a little closer now...
