| .358 NORMA magnum?
I was at a gun show today and was browsing through the guns and saw what appeared to be a sporterized Remington M1917 for $300. I asked to look at it and he said sure then I noticed that it was chambered for .358 Norma magnum which I didn't even know of at the time but based on the title of it I assumed it was something big and powerful. He told me that he needed more space for other guns and would take $200 cash if I bought it then. At first I was doubting the legitimacy of the cartridge thinking it was some hack job that was bound to explode when fired so I took it over to a gunsmith a couple rows down and he told me that it was in good condition and safe to fire but the main catch was that buying ammo for it is going to be very expensive and hard to come by. But since the gun was absolutely beautiful looking I figured I would take my chances on it and give it a go. By the looks of it the only plausible way i'm going to be able to shoot this is reloading so what I was wondering now is if anyone has an brass for it they would be willing to sell. Also Someone told me that the .358 Norma is basically a .338 magnum necked up and that I could bore out a .338 brass and used it for the .358 which would save a lot of money. Does anyone know if this is true?
