I'm going to have to disagree with the seat belt thing...it NEEDS to be illegal to drive without it!
I just got thru with a crash where the kid took a hit from behind to his tiny little Nissan car from a Chevy Avalanche...
he wasn't wearing a seatbelt...and suffered pretty massive injuries...the Airbag probably helped a little,
but they're really not designed for use without a seatbelt...they are just an Assist to belts.
When the Ambulance left, it didn't run the siren...never a good sign...
And since both the people involved were under 25-ish...probably at least one was texting or talking on a cell...
and that right now is the NUMBER ONE CAUSE of injury car crashes for the last few years...cellphone/texting.
You've got more of a chance to die in a texting accident than you do to a drunk!!
Don't get me started about child seats...worked way too many crashes with kids getting badly hurt
when they could have been hurt less if they were safely ensconced in a child seat/booster seat...
So yeah, some of the laws designed to keep people safe by limiting stupidity on the roads are going to sting...
but they need to...
Or you could look at it another way...we've killed off the vast majority of predators that eat humans...
so now, vehicle crashes, people doing stupid things, and humans preying on humans are the three biggest causes of death...
without the large death toll...Earth would already be overpopulated...hrm, well...it might already be...
I wonder if that's what the Dec. 21, 2012 date is for, when we finallly totally outstrip any hope of having enough resources
to keep the human population viable?? Can Soylent Green be far behind??
So hey, drive WITHOUT a seatbelt!! You'll be helping Mother Earth!!
