| Senior Member | Loudest noise I ever heard is a firearm that goes click instead of bang!:insane: I'll pause for a few seconds and then kick 'em out. If you want to know what I do after that, I'll usually deform them and throw them away. split the case if it's steel, brass i'll hang on to it. (gonna use that reloading press someday)that might be overkill, but there's too many people looking for a lawsuit. The last timeI had a misfire happend with me was when I had to swim across a river and I carried my s&w airweight, used cheap target ammo and the water leaked past the primers. Good thing there was'nt no critters after me! |

| Senior Member ![]() | I have a 30 cal ammo can with a few holes drilled in it. I'll put it in there untill I get a chance to give it a propper burrial. This after waiting a minute or two with the round in the chamber. We put explosive squibs from aircraft fire ext. systems in a similar ammo can for transport. I believe that if the misfire went off inthe ammo can, the projectile would disengage form the caseand there would be a heat and gas release. I don't belive the projectile would "fire" through the can. Iv'e only had a few .22 rimfires not ignite. And a couple of .45's loaded on military brass where the primer got a little deep and I missed it on final inspection.

| Senior Member | Give me a brake! If it didn't go off in the gun what gives you the idea that it will go off at all. Hang fire now thats a different story. You need to find out why. A hang fire also you need to know why, they can be dangerous. |

Seriously, wait a few seconds, then kick em out. I use the pliers on my leatherman type tool, pull the slug out and shake out the powder. Then I keep case. It is necessary to wait a few seconds to be sure it is a mis-fire and not a hang fire.... :uzi:
