Thinking about trading in my Baby Eagle .40

For a new Sig 226 .40, I love my Baby Eagle but its too heavy if I would ever have to carry it for an extended period of time. I can't justify having two pistols in the same caliber right now, and I can't deer hunt with the baby eagle because the bbl is under 4 inches. Do any of you own a 226? would you suggest that I get one, If not what do you recommend?

You deer hunt with a pistol? Better man then me! I own a Baby Eagle .45
It's great, you are right, SIG and GLOCK run lighter, but is lighter better? No offense, but I like guns and products that are heavier, Weight = Quality sometimes

you are able to hunt deer with a .40? ive hunted with a handgun here but the rule is it has to be above 25 cal. and the brass has to be 1 1/4 inches long. i.e. 357,44mag,41mag etc. i had a friend of mine in tennessee that used to hunt coyotes with a .40 cal but i always thought it was illegal.

I went to a gun show this weekend and traded it in on a new Sig 226 .40 I put about 200 rounds through it yesterday. It is much more accurate than I am. The only thing that bothers me about it is that the slide doesn't lock back unless I manually press up on the slide release lever. I looked at the diagram that came with the gun and I can't find anything that looks like it would push the lever up into the slide detent. Anybody own one of these? can you give me any hints? Thanks

In Iowa we can use .40 S&W, 45 ACP as well as revolver magnum rounds, but we can't use .357 mag and .44 mag lever rifles, I don't understand it oh well
