How many have/do they expect to sell? The larger the number produced the more the cost can be spread out allowing for lower per unit cost.
I am not saying the firearm in question is not quality or that the mag isn't over priced(there are plenty that are, FN and HK come to mind), just that there are some other factors to keep in mind.
