the marksman 2004 shoots 410 fps cost $45.00
other pistols in the 500 to 600 fps range cost 300.00 to 1000.00

you can get the air rifles up and over 1000 fps. lots of $ though. i have often wondered what they were like to shoot. probably no different than a typical 22. anyone know how loud they are?

check out this link

http://airgunsbbguns.com/crosman-pump-cro13770.html

it is a pump and only a single shot, but pretty respectable power. not a bad price too.

Thumbs up

I have the Crossman Model 2240 singleshot. Excellent accuracy and power. Several years back, I was popping mice at about fifteen to twenty feet - devastating on ultra-small game!

http://airgunsbbguns.com/crosman-cro...stol-2240.html

I like the added mass and "whompability" of the .22 pellets. It's more powerful than the Aguila Colibri and Super Colibri .22 rimfire shells! And far more accurate - it outshoots my Browning Buckmark at up to 25 yards.
And only $40 at Wal-Mart. Great deal in a pellet pistol.

troy i have a gamo shadow 1000 it shoots 1100 fps
it can put a .177 cal pellet right through a squrrill at 50 yrds
i added a 50 power bushnell scope for sniperability
cost is 189.00
it is not that loud but it will wake the neighbors

that crossman is a sweet piece is it a one pump or multiple?
well worth 55.00
the one with the real wood grips is the way i would go
that also comes in a .22 right?

at the home page for the link i posted, the have a huge menu of all sorts of air guns, check em out. when you find the crossman menu the pistol i linked in the post is at the bottom of the page. there was a couple of variations of the same model, there was an awesome looking one in what they called bloodwood. a real cherry finish. now i dont know if it was multiple pump or not, each pic of the pistols has an attachment for more info. good luck.

well i think i have found a way to increase the fps on my marksman
i fastened a quarter to the end of the piston the gun seems to have more power
caution! when you preform this mod you also have to replace the three pivot pins with hardened pins
the added cocking force destroyed the stock pins
it definitely sounds different
i also put a new crown on the end of the barrel
does anybody know how to check the fps ????
this site needs some action, does anybody have a good joke?

squrrilJerky...My neighbor has a crossman pistol which he pumps up higher to increase the pellet's velocity. However, my "pellet gun"(no brand name) only allows me to cock the cylinder once with only one pressure setting.

Don't know if Crossman still makes air pistols which can be pumped up or not...but that's what I'd like, too.

oxford, crossman has a model 1377 it comes in .177 and .22
3 pumps = 350 fps for .177
6 pumps = 525
10 pumps = 600
it says not to go more than 10
some mods to the valve or trigger may get you more fps

cost is 55.00
i got one last week and i love it
i added fiber optic sights
and crowned the barrel
the 55.00 dollar gun comes with cheesey plastic grips
wood grips are 65.00 extra
it also has a shoulder stock option
there is also an aftermarket breech called rhino breech
its made out of aircraft aluminum and replaces the stock plastic breech
