Greetings from the kommie state of so kalifornia. I'm not really a new shooter but getting into it after a while... (college, grad school and such kept me busy...). Used to occasionally fire my dad's .303 enfield in my late teens but haven't done much shooting since. Had a 10/22 in the closet which I pulled out and gave a thorough cleaning. Took a handgun course recently, got my hsc (didn't have any handgun experience before). Had some dough to spare so went on a shopping spree: bull barrel, target stock and scope for the 10/22 marlin 917v (I'm in love with the little .17 cartridge..lol)..but the metal magazine is el cheapo. (purchased the above two last year) then this year: springfield 1911-A1 ss used ruger single six (the long barrel - nr9 I think) mosin nagant - 91/30 and m44 (I've decided to follow some other gentleman's example & call them natasha and tanya - natasha's the blonde..lol) marlin 1894 .44 mag (got the above 3 from last weeks big 5 sporting sale) yeah, I know - now I'm outta lunch money Still haven't gone to the range after I got the mosins - rain sucks (and the neighbors complain if I practice in the apartment..j/k). Also rain makes me buy more stuff cos I have nothing else to do but hang out at the dealers over the weekend...lol probably going to get a C&R license so I can buy some cheap mil surplus before they start banning that too anyway, hope to learn a lot and chill with you folks. |

Also, I want to load my own ammo - never done it before I'm fairly careful and focused and hope to pick it up without much misadventure. Plus will let me understand grains and loads better I think.

welcome. Take it from someone from the PRI. When people start bad mouthing people in general in the region, they are just bragging about where they live Fire away with any questions. Iv'e been reloading for 15 years and stumped myself the other day. Lots of good help here.

No, not badmouthing. It's just that, it dosen't matter where ya go, there ya are. Reloading. There is a wealth of info right here. Go to the beginning, look around and let us know what questions you have. Not blowing you off you will find the reading interesting as well as answering some of your own questions. Yes you can learn it. http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/handloading/
