| Super Moderator ![]() | What would it take to buy a Hesse/Vulcan firearm?
For those of us aware of how incredibly bad Hesse/Vulcan Arms is, what drastic scenario would it take for you to actually acquire a firearm made by them? For me, I would accept one free as salvage. I actually have one part by them, an unused synthetic upper for an AR that I got for $30. I'm not sure what I'd actually salvage off of an AR by them, but I suppose if it had a RAS or something I might give a hundred or two if someone really didn't care about losing it. Regarding AKs, I'd pick up a Saiga conversion if the price was right and I got to thoroughly inspect it first. Might consider a virgin AK receiver. But NEVER one of their trunion welded AK builds. I'd have a hard choice if given a good price on one of their Galil repros. I'd have a tough time trusting one of their G3s, but I'd take a chance on an MP5 clone IF the price were right (ie insanely low). Regarding FALs, I can't see it happening, ever, period. Maybe, just maybe, for the kit. But that's a big maybe.

According to a few fellers over on Gunboards, their G3 and CETME receivers aren't bad - the Century monkeys used them early on when other suppliers went dry - but that was in the day when they used unissued parts sets, so the quality of the build was better overall. But you couldn't give me an AR made by Hesse/Vulcan . . .
