mine have been loaded for over a year and they still load every round.my magazines are the one my sister n law bought when she bought the gun new back in 1996 and they were kept loaded back then too.(she was a cop) and they still function now. so i guess it's safe to say that you can keep them loaded for a very long time and still have a strong and functional spring and magazine.i have 3 too prove it.just keep them oiled up and maintain them remember rust can breakdown a spring faster than having a load on it can.
