| Member | Where I live, all dogs and cats must be confined to the owners property or be on leash. Also, all dogs and cats MUST have a current rabies tag. If a dog or cat is in my place, it is not mine, I have none. Any dog or cat without a collar and tag is dead meat if I can get a shot. This is just common sense, in most parts of Texas, rabies is endemic, that is, present in at least small numbers ,all the time. An apartment complex was just shut down as rabid bats were found in the siding. Rabies is not something to ignore or blow off and rabies vaccinations of pets is the first line of defense between you and your family and a fatal disease. Anyone who does not keep their animals confined and vaccinated is playing fast and loose with the lives of their family and all their neighbors. |

| Senior Member | Use airsoft. I have a CM.028 (AK-47), which was about $100, and it works wonders. Accurate to maybe 150 feet? can stick in some nasty springs for up to 500 FPS. But be sure to use .2g BB's, they are heavier, and retain energy better.

| Senior Member ![]() | What i've heard some folks do around here is run an extension cord to the metal trash can, you'll have to stick clothes hangar wire in the female end of the extenion cord and fasten to trash barrel with screws, put bait on top of trash wait for the cat to get bait then plug up the extention cord. Then unplug extension cord, then disasemble the set up. you'll likely throw a breaker in your house or shop. Just give the cat or dog a good jolt, please don't kill them. I don't remember if you ground to a metal stake and not the trash container. Hum |

| Senior Member | DO NOT USE A PAINTBALL GUN!!! In most places/states, shooting a paintball gun in city limits is chargable as "Discharging a firearm within city limits", which is why paintballers go to unincorporated county areas to play. I know this because I'm an avid paintballer and airsofter. I'm sure you'll have a heck of a time getting/renewing a CCW permit after being charged with that! Airsoft would work, but they look too real. Cops can/would get called. Super Soaker is your best option. If the water doesn't work, just add in an irritant, like vinegar.

| Member | I had trouble with a neighbors cat and confronted them about it and they gave me the, NOT MY CAT. Killer is right. I caught the cat in a live catch trap. I smeared it with skunk cover scent (almost puked doing it) and let the cat go home. LOL, LOL, LOL. Never had a problem again with either. House cats are nice, outdoor cats are a menace to the environment. Where I live now cats and little dogs don't have a chance in the outdoors as the coyotes and fox eat any that stray too far from home. |

| Senior Member | I have used a modified live catch trap with great success with every pest. Basically this website The Snare Shop - all your snaring and trapping needs at one stop sells a kit to build a catch trap out of two five gallon buckets. Looks alot like a trash can when your done. Works great. Actually cought two racoons at the same time. |

Trader Rating: (0) | Ive got it! put a mixture of 1/2 ammonia and 1/2 household bleach in your trashcan .it will create chlorine gas DO NOT BREATHE FUMES!!!!!!!! IT WILL BLISTER YOUR LUNGS! i did it to convince a skunk family to vacate their posh apartment under my house, and it keeps the bears out of my trash. ![]() the fumes are heavier than air so they will go downhill and or concentrate in the bottom of the can. they used it in the GREAT WAR

| Super Moderator ![]() ![]() | My older brother lives in the country and has had cats dumped in his area by "city slickers" several times. The best gun to solve his problem was a 12 double barrel Gage shotgun. No more pilfering occured in his trash barrels. P.S.: If you're lucky and are a good shot you can take out two cats at once.

| Member | Thanks ArkansasHunter, I felt kinda bad for the cat as it was just doing what most critters do, but I hate it when some pet owners don't take responsibility for their pets actions. If it was my cat, I would have rebagged the garbage and apologized for it. It tore my garbage up 3 times and I couldn't confront the cat owner again. I'm 6'1" and 260 and wanted to kick the shazit out of both of them. (I'm all for equal ***** kicken rights) but then I'm the ahole. Being a hunter trapper and knowing how and what to use, it was a nobrainer. I waited till 8:30 pm before letting the cat go. I can still hear the screaming and hollering yet. That cat ran through their hole house before they could catch it. I was rolling on the floor about to pi$$ my pants while it was going on. Never had a problem with the cat or it's owners again. |

| Senior Member ![]() | PelletHead I hope I get the opportunity to do what you've did. I can't quit laughing over that one. My mother and step father have troubles with one of there neighbor's two cats crapping in there garden. I've got to go stay with my Mom June 4th for maybe 7 days while he's goes up to Little Rock and takes Kemo...I may do this to the neigbors cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...A.H |

| Member | ArkansasHunter, You may want to pass this on to your mother. If they harvest anything from the garden, make sure that none of the harvest is eaten by anyone who is pregnant. Pregnant woman shouldn't even touch a litterbox as there is something in the cat crap that causes birth defects. This is serious stuff. I don't know what it is or called, but I'm sure you can find out more somewhere one the computer. Maybe someone reading this will know. Better to be safe than sorry. |
