Daisy/Winchester 1000

Hello everyone, I have a pellet rifle. It is a break barrel. It is camo and has a monte carlo stock. It says both Daisy and Winchester on it and it says its a model 1000. just a 1000, not a 1000x, not a 1000SB, just a 1000. Does anyone know how to do a trigger job on one of these? the trigger is horrible. I would just like to lighten it or shorten the pull length. Thanks for any help

I had that gun, and got rid of it. The gun is a Daisy that Winchester put their name on. The trigger was so unpredictable, so I got a Gamo. Now I want an RWS.

How did yours shoot? Mine shoots pretty good, I've killed a couple of birds with mine. Ya know that screw right beside the trigger (the one that you have to go through the hole in the trigger guard to adjust) do you know what that does? Thanks

As far as accuracy goes, I guess mine was fine, once I got used to the trigger. You can try to adjust the set screw, but I don't know if it will do any good. Good luck with it.

well i loosened tthe screw quite a bit and i think it helped

that adjust the amount of pull on the trigger. makes it lighter or heavier on the pull

hi does anyone know if u can use the new PBA RAPTOR .177 pelets in my Winchester 1000SB. i know it says all .177 pelets fit in this gun on the box but most guns in online shops say 1000fps with lead 1200 with PBA Raptor ammo(made by gamo) my gun did not mension anything about PBA ammo. Right now i use the regular Gammo lead pelets(magnum,fine point......)

Oh um btw Mine says Just 1000 on it too i think they all do But i bought the 1000(SB package) i think the SB is just the package it comes it not the gun itself. 1 more thing i think u said yours was cammo, i think that means its one of the ones made in brazil, because the ones on the market today only come is black synthetic(like mine) and the wooden kind, and they say made in turkey on the box. Hope this helped a bit might also explain why u had trigger dificulty b/c mine has none of the such.

Hi Kurt1993. The PBA Raptors will be fine to use in your gun. You'll just have to try them and see how they do. Some use them in there break barrels and swear by them. I swear at them, in my gamo shadow 1000 they make a pattern that looks like a shotgun blast. But they work fine in my pump rifles and pistols.

Yeah I never found PBA to be extremely accurate in my rws.

It is the model number but basically means it shoots 1000fps.

Gamo "PBA" pellets are simply a marketing ploy.

I could shoot a foam earplug over a chrony and get impressive velocity, but that doesnt mean it will perform well.

Your best bet is to find a domed pellet that shoots the most accurate out of your gun.


While on the subject of pellets-

The Diablo shape, i.e. skirt/head/waist most common pellets have, function best well below supersonic speeds. The "golden zone" for the most stable pellet flight is roughly 800-900fps.

Conical bullets from firearms are designed for supersonic flight. Diablo pellets, are not.


Another note, Manufacturer claims of Velocity are 99% HIGHLY exaggerated. As much as several hundred fps. But companies like Gamo know that big numbers sell, and put it to good use in marketing. Only way to know what velocity a gun is actually shooting at is to use a chronograph.
