'03 Bolt Assembly Question

Do I need any special tool(s) to assemble an '03 Bolt?

I cannot compress the firing pin spring enough to install the firing pin, and the collar that holds it in place.

The answer is no...The safety should be in the safe position when starting.Put the cocking knob against your belt,slide the spring over the striker rod and compress and hold it there. With the other hand slip the collar and striker onto the rod and slowly release the spring.
