Since it is an SC and has A Remington Barrel , common sense says it was either Re-arsenaled , or Rebarreled by somebody after it left service ...as you well know it could have all kinds of stamps...AA. RRA , etc.etc.
If you arent around, somebody has to answer the Questions....

Ok then, lets go over this. Smith Corona will have a FJA only for a newly build rifle and Remington will have a RA with the FJA. Does this spin your head a bit. FJA is not a rebuild mark on the Smith Corona's.

Am I correct Rich that you say SC did not have a FJA unless it was a rebuild?? Rick B

NOT what I said at all...
Again...I was giving EXAMPLES of what I pulled out of thin Air of POPULAR stamps that could be on the Rifle, Rebuilt or not, for the owner to look for on the stock and where...There could be Multiple stamps from Original Proofing as well as Rebuild stamps...FJA is an Inspector mark for Frank J. Atwood boxed or Not...
The Re-arsenalled 03a3's I clean for the American Legion have All kinds of stamps RRA, FJA, S, Circle P's, RA, ETC...
HAD I Not used The FJA as an EXAMPLE, we wouldnt Be having this silly Discussion , now would we...

Actually I hope you are not taking my postings wrong as I am glad this came up. It is always good to discuss in length rifles like this. I guarantee you more information came out of this for some than we can imagine. It will also be there for along time incase someone searches in the future.

I may come across as harsh sometimes but it is more of a point counterpoint thing I like to do dragging out more info and I learn also. I actually had to think about the FJA on the SC's as I have handled allot of them. I was hoping someone else would jump in before I posted it. Group discussion's are allot of fun.

And honestly I did come in only do to a individual asking me about it in a email. They new I have handled allot of stocks and were confused not wanting to show it on the board without knowing. They felt the discussion was saying No SC had the FJA new and that FJA was only used on rebuilt rifles as I did when I read thru it to fast. Keep up the good discussions. Rick B

Hey guys,
Sorry it took a while to get back on this was out of town. Didn't mean to cause any confusion. Again My SC w/ RA Barrel has no other marking other than the Circle P. Unforturnly no rebuild stamp. So what do you all think. Has anyone ever seen a SC w/ RA barrel? Was this just a fluke? Or was this done on purpose? Anyone know?

I do this becasue someone just reading will say FJA is only a rebuild like the person who emailed me to find out if this was true. I only came over to the thread since it had someone else messed up and me also.
Dont get upset, besides you threw the first stone. Kidding about your little smiley. Rick B

I completley concur, Rick. You are thee man for pointing this out. Way to go.
