| Range day Spent a day at the range and shot my Remington M1903A3 and my Springfeild M1903 (1918 production receiver) but is a WWII rebuild with an 8-42 RA barrel. The Reminton A3 always attracts peoples eyes as the finish is over 90% with a beautiful scant stock. I've never not had offers to buy it when I take it to the range. And the SA/RA rebuild is a nice looking weapon with the correct acceptance stamp on the stock for the receivers production date, the rear sight base (parkerized) and barrel were the only things changed in the rebuild. Every thing else is correct. If I told you how little I payed for it you would cry. But as always the A3 was 1-1/2 " groups at 100 meters abut the SA/RA was high at 100 about 8" high but dead center and tight grouping. No windage adjustment needed just zeroed out but with the rear ladder type sight on the all I could adjust was my point of aim to drop the point of impact on the target. My question has anybody else had or seen this in early 03's, is this due to modern powders in M2 ball?( this is 1960 Greek stuff I was shooting) wish I'd bought more. Or is this just the nature of the beast? The range I was at only went to 100 meters so I couldent check point of impact at greater ranges. Any insight is appreciated, Thanks.

| Sounds to me like you need a taller front sight. The open sight has a battlefield zero of 537 yards. The peep sight should be pretty much on target according to the settings. If it is shooting that high, you need a taller front blade. |
