More pistol caliber carbines

As I stated in another thread I am smitten with the idea of a pistol and a carbine that take the same magazines. The other thread I asked about the Ruger carbines. I'm mainly looking for something for plinking and self defense duties.

I got to looking at a couple other pistol caliber carbines. Mainly the Beretta Storm, the Kel-Tec Sub2000 and the Mech Tech Conversions. I don't like the way Beretta's feel in my hand so the Storm is out. I kinda like the idea of a Glock 17 and a carbine. Especially with the 33 round G18 mag.

If I went with the Glock would you suggest the Kel-Tec Sub2000 or the Mech Tech conversion. From what I can find online the Sub2000 is a little delicate but I have never held one so I don't know. Granted I'm not going to be out in the field for months at a time but I don't like the idea of a weapon that breaks easily.

Would it be a more durable weapon than the Sub? Anyone have any experience with either the Kel-Tec or the Mech Tech?
