What is up with this forum?

Hello, hello, hello, is there anybody out there...........

I'm quite surprised at the total lack of activity on this forum, which is the only English-language forum devoted to FEG pistols that I know of.

I know that a lot of PA-63, SMC- and R-series owners and fans hang out at the Makarov boards, and I would think there are enough of us to keep up the activity here as well. Not to mention the newer FEG weapons in calibers other than 9x18, which get practically no play on the forums at all.

I personally am not familiar with FEG, not having much exposure thereto. I know that FEG has made a lot of close copies of Brownings and Walthers. I know that FEG supplied a lot of Hungarian and Egyptian military and police weapons. Other than that, I have had very little exposure to them.

I see you are in Raleigh. I am just 35 or 40 miles east, in Johnston County.

I used to have a PA-63 in 9mm Makarov...double action trigger pull was a nightmare but otherwise it was a cool little gun :target:

I know Selma, I've been there several times. An easy jaunt down US 70. Where do you usually go shooting down that way? I've been to Range 1 several times.

There is a small, mom & pop owned range in Princeton, between Selma and Goldsboro. It is Hartley's Gun and Sport. The good side is that they have an inexpensive membership, just $25/year. It is then $5 per visit. The downside is that they are only open Thurs. - Sat. They are not open every week; they take time off and close the range whenever they want. It is pistol only, no rifle. It is 25 yards only, four lanes. Most times when I get there and the range is open, nobody is in the building and it is locked, so I have to go to the house next door and get the range owner to come let us in.

In Raleigh, I have been to Davi's and looked at their range. They are expensive, $300 per year for husband and wife membership. I have also shot at Personal Defense in Tryon Hills before. Membership is a bit high there, too. To shoot at either range, it is over $15 for non members each trip.

I got a flyer for another range in Morrisville, near my office by RDU airport. It is outdoor and can handle either pistol or rifle. I may check them out soon.

Do you recall the name of the range in the flyer? I live very near RDU, (and used to work near there, back behind the outlet mall).

But I never heard of a shooting range there. That would be easier for me to get to than either Davi's or PDHSC.

My shooting buddy has a compact FEG in .40 SW caliber - nice gun. All steel, reliable and accurate.

My office is in Perimeter Park, right up the road. The flyer I got was for the Durham County Wildlife Club www.dcwc.net

Yeah I've looked at their website, it's a members-only club with rather confusing fees, times of operation, and rules. But an annual membership there is cheaper than at one of the indoor ranges.

I own a FEG P9R if it makes you feel any better. Great gun, hasn't jammed on me yet. Only paid $200 for it too.

I kept this forum up in the anticipation that it would become active. FEG makes some fine firearms that are overlooked. I like the Hi-power clones as well as the hybrid S&W auto/ Hi- Power pistols. It is rare I ever see an advertisement for these fine firearms ouside of The Shotgun News or The Gun List. I believe Interarms is the importer for FEG now... correct me if I'm wrong.
Just curious, but how hard are parts and magazines to obtain for the FEG line?

Not sure why it's so quiet here. Since I own the PJK 9HP, most the the FEG talk I encounter is on one of the HP boards.

FEG is not very active in marketing.

My FEG is a clone of the High Power. Some of the parts are actually interchangable.
