| Thanks on the project...yep, that is an extrended mag release hanging down.
Don't worry bout not hunting (for whatever reasons)..I don't hunt myself.
I shoot at a sweet 1,000 yard range where I can sit at a benchrest set-up, and don't have to worry bout gators or snakes....mostly either at 200 yards or at a 600 & 800 yard long range target (no, not with a .22 chuckle......I use a 7mm Remington Magnum for that)..and then some 50 and 100 yard spiner targets or golf balls with the .22's
Wanna know what may really help your accuracy and won't cost a dime?
Try shooting with and without the front barrel band (that holds the barrel to the stock), in about 90% of the cases it shoots better without it (it messes with the barrel vibration pattern)
also, don't get confused (a lot of new folks do)...replacing the "trigger" does not help much....replacing the HAMMER does help. the geometry involved between the trigger housing internal parts change when you replace the HAMMER. and in most cases will drop the amount of pull you must place on your trigger to make it fire from 8 or 9 pound to between 2 and 3 pounds.
Welcome!
