I've used my uncle's old ruger semi-auto. Its a lot like the Deerfield except the action is that of a 10/22. I like them from the fact that they're powerfull and easy to drop large game. Definately a good gun for deer and other large game. The only problem is that the ammo costs so much. If your aim is really good I would suggest a .357 carbine for hunting purposes. But thats just my opinion.
