| I never thought of the .357 as much of a rifle.
A cartridge designed for a pistol and shot in a rifle doesn't seem to be a logical choice for big game hunting or long distance shooting.
I guess if you were close enough you could make clean kills but I would think the ballistics are such that that would be difficult.
Based on the cartridge alon you would also thing it would have unappreciable stats when comapared to even a 30-30.
We have ranchers around here that have .357 and they use it primarily for 'yotes.
They wont even trust it at distance on cougar.
