Rocket, the Trail Blazer was made by Iver Johnson. Jack first in South Dakota has parts for them I hear. You can find jack on the web or if you contact winchester they have his address too.

Cooey 22 Repeater Model 60

Just bought a nice old pre-serial number Cooey model 60. Its a bit tricky to get the bolt out an even more tricky to get it back in. Having only done this once with this rifle, I beleive you have to hold the trigger back to get the bolt out. To get it back in requires the tube feed to be all the way rearward, push the bolt in until it hits the end of magazine then press down on the end of mag while pushing forward on the bolt.
Cooey has a funny little action where the tube mag slides back when the bolt is opened and forward when bolt is closed.
I have a question for anyone familiar with Cooey, I need a schematic and specs. My Cooey Model 60 is pre-serial number. Am having trouble with tube mag when sliding the spring tube into mag, it catches on the end of bullet and won't go in fully. If I am very careful and twist while inserting, sometimes it will go, but am sure this is not standard. One g-smith said he thought the inner tube was too long, but without specs and schematic how would I know for certain?

I have a Cooey 600, had it for years and years. The trigger ain't very good, way too much creep. It's designed for a bulky and rather expensive side mount that Weaver makes (or used to make).

The tube magazine holds 12 Long Rifle, 14 Long or 18 Short cartridges.

Hi Dana,
I cam across an old thread where you mentioned that you have 2 Cooey Model 600 rifles, and, more importantly, that you had the owner's manual for them. I just inherited one from my great uncle, but unfortunately without the manual.. I was wondering if I could impose on you to make a photocopy or a computer scan, and send me a copy. I would be happy to pay you for the effort.
If you email me at tombssebastian@hotmail.com, I will send my address

cooey model 60

boy o boy..... i just realized how old and twisty this thread actually is......started by nra joe in 2003...... reopened in 1-2008 by rocket..... then again by zorac in sept of 2009, then again by roberg in oct of 2009, which is when i finally picked it up.......
by co-incidence, i had seen that day, or the day before, a cooey for sale in my favorite gunshop....... i thought the gun was kind of interesting when i spotted it in the gunshop, and after seeing this thread, i went back and looked at it again....... i had posted that it was $150, but it was only $125...... you guessed it..... cash on the barrelhead...........

it's a cooey model 60 with an old weaver g-4 3/4 inch scope....... i'm setting it up to shoot .22 cb longs so i can shoot gophers and rats w/o alarming neighbors..... it's a very nice old rifle, and appears to shoot quite well.....

i'm sure that if i hadn't spotted this thread, i never would have purchased the rifle..... so i guess this is both a thank you note, and an example of how we all work together and influence each other.......
