.22 Magnum Handguns
That is NOT a .22WMR...that's .22TCM, which is a whole other centerfire animal entirely

Wildcat cartridge made to show off their small-caliber 1911 series.

Here's what you really need to know...
2100 FPS muzzle velocity.
The pistol comes with a 9mm barrel also, mags are the same as 9mm.
Only costs $529-ish.

So basically, the pistol is an inexpensive competitor of the 5.7
And its shorter, fatter, & weighs more...so you'll get more of a SMACK when it hits a body.

But the ammo costs the same as a 5.7, $20 for a box of 50

Sooo...the choice is an inexpensive pistol with blazing fast speed,
or a pricey FN with blazing fast speed.

Carbine versions...FN has the well-known P-90 in 5.7
Reportedly RIA is going to use the MIG22 platform to make a carbine in .22TCM, but its not availible yet

.22lr vs the .22TCM

still the .22 Lr ad they detail it as a .22Lr not the .22TCM
http://centerfiresystems.com/ac-ri1911-22lr.aspx
1911 XT-22LR Rock Island

•5” Barrel
•.22LR
•Matte Black Finish
•Wood Checkered Grips
•Adjustable Rear Sight
•Dove-tailed Front Sight

yes they slid the .22TCM in the .22Mag quirey shame on centerfire.

Rock Island Armory Introduces First Production .22 TCM Firearm | The Truth About Guns
I think its kinda cool that it uses a 9mm case necked down to a .223 bullet. Pretty interesting if you ask me.

A 9mm necked down to 5.56?? I can see limited uses for such a round a 5.56x45 is barely enough to take deer sized game slowing the round will make it even less effective. Plinking will be a PITA because the ammo would have to be hand loaded. Putting it into a rifle might make it a little better but, I still have a hard time seeing what use someone could have for it that a standard rifle or even pistol round (maybe even a 9mm) comming out of a 16 inch barrel couldnt do better and for cheaper.

On the flip side reloading supplies are a dime a dozen for 9mm and 5.56 and you could get alot of rounds out of a pound of powder.

If you want a .22LR 1911 RAI pistols are about as good as any others that I have fired and cost less in many cases.

See, here's the rub...
5.56 is evidently enough to take down a human, in a humane manner (so NATO sez)...and the average human male weighs around 180-200 lbs.
Average whitetail deer weighs about the same...
I'd be nobody would have a problem with using 5.56 on even a 350 lbs. human...
but I'd bet most folks wouldn't use 5.56 on a 350 lb. Mule deer.

So what exactly makes it OK to use 5.56 on a human and NOT on a deer?
Other than they expect to fire multiple rounds at the human...and only ONE shot at the deer

Will .22TCM & FN 5.7 jack someone up?? Oh yeah.
I wouldn't have any problem using either...it'd be a step up from a Grendel P-30 in .22WMR w/30-rds per mag
