| Volquartsen upgrade?
Since the Power Custom kit I ordered a few months ago was "not available" any more and a few nasty e-mails later, I ordered the catalogue from Volquartsen. Oooh boy..nice stuff! I still want to do the whole nine yards on the trigger for the 10-22 and would get the complete kit. Its cheaper than Power Custom too. Anybody have one of these? I know Volquartsen makes some darn nice (expensive) 10-22's but wondered about the do it yourself kits. |

I agree Volquartsen makes some nice stuff. The 10/22 stock Ruger trigger is about 5 1/2 lbs. If you replace the Hammer with a VQ version it will get you down to about 2-2 1/2 lbs. Anything else you put into the factory trigger won't really help the trigger pull. I'd add a bolt buffer and an extended mag release and thats about it. Volquartsen does sell a complete trigger group for just under $200 to replace the factory setup. Trigger pull drops down to around 14/16 oz. which is better for bench shooting but a tad light for critter stalking. If you really want the best trigger group made they come from Kidd. Just about $300 delivered. Down to 8oz. and bench shooting all the way. I have a couple VQ trigger groups and eventually will get a Kidd, but all I shoot is benchrest targets. Now a barrel is another accuracy investment. If your thinking about one Green Mountain makes the hands-down winner. just my 2ยข |

Thanks guys. Thats what I wanted to hear. That should save me about $100 and still get the trigger pull down to acceptable levels. At least I can still shoot it until I save some money for the Kidd trigger.

I got it today. It came in a big padded manila envelope. I opened it up and pulled out a small plastic bag with the new parts. It took me about 1/2 second to look at the parts and go CRAP! Thats all $135 buys?!!! It better work darn good and guide every bullet to the target for that kind of money. I'll find out this weekend if I dont send the springs flying into oblivion when I work on it. |
