It just won't be the same, but that's probably the only way to keep the cost reasonable. I just hope it has the superb trigger that the original has! Feels like a match trigger, light and crisp. The pistol has really cheasy sights though - if I get the Oly version, I'll be able to modify it with some good adjustable sights - can't do that to the old gun without ruining collector value! I've wanted a Whitney since I saw one in a book in my high school daze - it really captivated me! I finally got my chance a few years back at the gunshow - Private Sale from a friend's father, for half normal value! I couldn't turn that down. It's a big pistol, dimensionally, but oh so light! Fantastic grip too - the most comfortable I've ever held. A truly natural pointer, somewhat like a Luger!

| Whitney Wolverine The original Whitney Wolverine pistols went into production in 1956 and were a huge hit with customers. It's radical 'space age' design was ergonomic to the hand, and pointed naturally for most shooters. The Olympic Arms Whitney Wolverine is built with a high-strength polymer frame making it lightweight and durable. The pistol uses .22 LR high-velocity ammunition and is fed to the pistol through an all metal magazine which holds ten rounds. Once called, "The most reliable, best shooting, best pointing little .22 pistol ever handled" by the late Rex Applegate. The Whitney Wolverine makes for a great plinker, farm hand, or for a home safeguard. http://www.olyarms.com/?page=m2_whitney_wolverine |

Basically, it's alright by today's standards - but it ain't a Whitney. It looks fat and clunky - the polymer has to be thicker to maintain strength. The top rib is also much higher, and the sights are indeed better. The grip is still much the same - feels very nice! My first thought was, "They Glockerized my Whitney!" MSRP is just under $300 - not at all bad! Less than half what a 'real' Whitney will set you back.
