Dat's the one LD, thanks.
WOW! I had no idea it was made in the early 30's The gun dosen't show it that much. The stock albeit not in bad shape would have to be refinished. One little hoochiepecker flaw on the barrel bluing, but in decent shape.

Joe, it has no cosmoline

Exclamation

the fact that it can take the 33A Lyman rear peep sight is a big plus (I wonder if Lyman still makes it ?) I'd steer clear of the smoothbore

Thumbs up

I'm envious, Jerry! I would love to add one to my collection. Finding one in that condition is icing on the cake!

Not the smooth bore. They do have one of a different brand a few guns down.
I didn't see the 33A on Lyman's site.

Hearing that from you Big Dog, I'm tempted. You are the in house .22 rifle expert. It sure is pretty.

If it shoots as good as my 514 it would be good to go LD. Thing sure does have a long barrel on it.

I'm getting out of the work clothes, putting on a pair of jeans and putting it on layaway. I might see if he'll let me take a PIC.

LD, it's not a "target" rifle, just a good solid single-shot twentytwo. Not a whole lot of value monetarily, but we afficionados like the old Remmys - they just don't make them like that anymore! The Gun Trader's Guide lists values as:
NiB - $181, Ex - $145, Gd - $99
Made 1931 - 36.

There is a "Model 33 Junior Target Rifle", with the Lyman peep rear sight. It is more valuable, no doubt far fewer produced. Add about $60 to $100 to above values. It still wouldn't be a competitive target gun, more an introductory trainer for younger shooters.

I've begun a little side collection of Remingtons, so this rifle would be a welcome addition - I may luck into one someday.
