It'll be a good scope but you can prolly get it cheaper at WalMart.

Bluetruck99,

I tend to agree with Rebel727 that you might want to look around locally and then you'd be able to speak with, perhaps, knowledgable sales people.

The eBay ad you posted actually didn't give me a clear idea of the brand.

I know it mentioned "Bushnell quality" but that could mean that the seller believes the scope is in the same league as a Bushnell when it might well be other than a Bushnell scope, itself.

It mentioned the 'Sportsman' line but I'm not familiar with that one either.

Any who..........if you are looking for an inexpensive scope for a 10/22 and for plinking most any inexpensive scope will do (such as Tasco, BSA, etc.).

If you are looking to take the 10/22 to competition rimfire shooting then you might want to invest in something of higher quality and, surely, something a bit more expensive than a Tasco, Bsa, low-range Simmons, etc.

But, unless you are sure you know enough about scopes to know what you are seeing advertised is what you want I would look around locally....MHO.

BTW, just so you know, bluetruck99, although eBay allows some gun accessories to be sold on their site they aren't terribly gun friendly otherwise.

I'd support someone who is gun friendly first.

all good things to think about. i found one on clearance for $13ish and its silver (how lame am i that the scope has to match the barrel) i think i'll start with it and when i get good enough that i need a better one maybe i can find someone just starting out into shooting and give it to them. or i'll sell it for $50 on ebay using misleading terms and jacked up shipping. thanks guys ~Ryan

I wouldn't be skeered to take a Simmons into competition.
Oh, the Sportsman scopes are made by Bushnell.

I don't think that's lame at all. It's your gun, do what you want with it, you know. 13 or so dollars sounds like a good price for just about any scope. It would probably work for what you want it for. What type/brand is it?
