| the rossi is an OK little gun, though i would suggest to go with the taurus version of the 62, as it is a closer copy of the winchester 62a. the winchester 62a was a great little rifle, though originals in good condition are getting expensive. |

| Rossi .22 Pump One thing I forgot to mention about my Rossi was the balance and ease of carrying. It is a copy of the Winchester 62 so it feels great in a one hand carry. The more I handle it the more I like it. This Rossi and my Winchester 9422 will be the last two I would ever sell. |

| On a whim, I scoped my Taurus 62. Taurus makes a clever little mount that employs the rear sight dove tail. ![]() It really makes the ammo vanish. |

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | Sheffield, welcome to G&G! that's a pretty slick setup, I've got one similar on my M-44 Mosin Nagant but have never seen one on a .22. It looks like the rings are a little high for a good cheek weld, how well does it work in actual use?

| Picture of my Rossi model 59 (Winchester 62 copy) This is a shot I took a few years ago with a film 35 mm camera and then scanned in. I will try a shot with a digital, should be sharper. |

You are indeed correct about the hold. I have to use a "chin" weld instead. But, it is funny how fast you get comfortable with something like that. That is actually 2X Leupold pistol scope that I had on a Ruger Single Six. I decided pistol scopes were not for me and, thought this set up would be fun to experiment with. Dan22, I had a Rossi just like that years ago. Wish I still had it. It is a shame that Taurus was compeled to add that stupid safety to these latest Winchester 62 clones. | |

| Wanted: Rossi Model 62 stainless. (Not Carbine) I owned a stainles model 62 that was bought for me by my father. Unfortunately a recent divorce has caused the gun to go missing. I would love to have that peice of my childhood back even if it is not the exact same gun. Therefore, I am actively looking for the Rossi model 62 that has been in this thread. I know Taurus has been manufacturing the new ones however I am not a fan of the safety on those models. Please let me know if anone has one in good condition or knows someone that would be willing to sell it. I keep checking Gunbroker.com and gunsamerica.com but rarely does one show up in good shape. Please help! |

| The Rossi's now Taurus are fun reasonably accurate lil rifles, I adore both of mine and won't be trading them off for nothing. Although to get my Missus to quit burning the barrel out of my Ruger 96 I am searching fo ra lil Henry Lever gun for her she likes the lever design it seems. Had a Browning BL22 many moons ago unfortunately it was one of many Iwent missing during my divorce.
