| Senior Member | Homemade FN P90 conversion? ...I have an airsoft P90, and measuring everything overall, I'm thinking that I could probably fit a Ruger 10/22 action inside the thing if I removed the basic pieces from the airsoft gun. It meets the length requirements with my 20 inch bull barrel by about an inch (26 inches minimum overall, right?). I can't even begin to imagine how awesome an FN-P90 -looking and -sized gun would be if it shot .22LR, grouping as well as my 10/22 does at 100 yards (2-3 inch groups with wal-mart match grade stuff). It would look exactly like there was a silencer on the end of the P90 with my blued bull barrel (Butler Creek) sticking out the end. The cost, if I screw up, is $30 for a new .920 channel stock, $15 for the can of Bondo, and $25 plus shipping for a cheap airsoft gun (i'd reinforce it for this project, so durability won't be an issue). The only forseeable problems I might have is that 1. the accuracy would be bad because I'm not sure if the stock bedding will fit in there, and 2. i have no idea how i'd rig up my own trigger linkage system. I've done plenty of work with Bondo, including making a thumbhole stock for one of my other guns. Bondo would be a perfect way to hold the major parts into the stock. The thing is... If I cut down the outside of the stock all around the bull barrel so it fits in the narrow gun, so long as the barrel isn't directly touching anything but the stock, will it affect the accuracy at all? The end of the gun is only just a little bit wider than I'd need for the barrel to slip through if I cut the right sized hole. Any ideas on what to use for a trigger linkage system? Should I bother wasting my time, or just keep my regular old .920 stock on my 10/22? Last edited by phrogg; 08-13-2006 at 02:21 AM. |

| Senior Member | ehhh i dont know about that. im not that good thats for sure. But for you that may be a different story. I see on some airsoft guns on ebay and they say as a disclaimer to Ebay that they can not be modified into real guns

| Moderator ![]() | I've been thinking of doing something similar with a .22 rifle action inside an Airsoft HK G3, with the barrel where the G3 cocking tube is. With the P90, you have the added bullpup-style trigger link to contend with. Easiest thing would be some stiff wire as a link, pivoting on the forward trigger and pushing the 1022 trigger as you pull it. I don't know if the Airsoft P90 has a sliding trigger (easier to do this), or a pivoting trigger. If the latter, you might need a bell-crank to turn the pulling action into pushing. Then there's the safety mechanism to consider! Also, I've seen 1022 target shooters use two longer pins/screws through the action's trigger pack, extending sideways into the stock to secure the receiver. Maybe do something like that to anchor it? An interesting project, for sure!
