| Does anyone know why my model 60 shoots this way? At 50 yards it is about 4 or 5 inches left of where it is aimed. Is there any way to rectify it? |

| Super Moderator ![]() | The Model 60 is supposed to have adjustable rear sights...The rear sight needs to be moved to the right... Rich

| 1) Drift rear sight to the right - a little dab will do ya. 2) Or drift the front sight left. 3) Check the muzzle for a ding in the crown - might be deflecting the bullet.

| I tried moving the rear sight. Maybe I am missing something but it is not adjustable and I am reluctant to hit it with a mallet or whatever to make it more. I picked up a can of a Smith and Wesson product that foams and is for the bore and action. have not made time to mess with it yet. It is gonna get cold here tomorrow so maybe tomorrow night i can put and hour or two into it. Admitedly the gun was neglected for many years. I almost wonder if the damage is irreversable. No problem with the muzzle, no dings on the crown. Thanks for all the suggestions, I will let you know how it works out. |

| Im, you don't need to use a mallet. A small hammer and a drift will work. Just a couple of taps, then shoot, then a couple of more taps. Not very precise, but that's how you adjust sights. |

| Yep, and a brass drift will not mar the bluing on the rear sight. Just a wee bit will do it!

| I think I partially solved the trouble one one hand, and on the other I totally solved it. I did my best to move the sight, I do not know what a drift is but I used a small mallet and a block of wood, it seemed to move a hair. i also scrubbed the heck out of the bore, a lot of lead residue came out. The best solution was that I bought a new Savage Mark 2 GL. It shoots straight as an arrow. WooHoo. I put a scope on it and it nails golf balls at 50 yards Gonna shoot the model 60 this week and see if what I did to it helped. Thanks |
