| J. Stevens .22 boys rifle hey guys, new member here wanting to say hello to everyone.I have a boys rifle and need a little info on it. Left side of barrel is marked WHIPPET J. Stevens Arms Company, Chicope Falls MASS. USA, Cal. 22 S.L. or LR. MODEL C. On the left side of barrel next to breech is the number 23 inside of a circle. Rifle is single shot bolt action without a safety, after loading chamber and closing bolt you have to pull the cocking piece back at the rear of the bolt to cock the weapon. It has a cresent shaped butt with a steel buttplate. anyone have any info? Thanks |

| Sounds a bit like my old Stevens Model 15 bolt-action singleshot. An uncle gave it to me when I turned eight or so. It also must be cocked to fire, and has a very simple action. The trigger spring is a long bar under the combined receiver/barrel. Good shooter even after so many years. They don't comand high values, as they were quite common for many years.
