| Browning 22 Autoloader question I wasn't sure whether or not this should go here or in gunsmithing. Looked like gunsmithing was more for the trade in general and not specific questions, so here it is I have a 1974 Browning .22 Takedown. My father gave it to me as a teenager and it's my go to small game rifle. Long story short: On a recent rebluing project on this .22 I noticed that the barrel lock plunger and spring were missing. I located the parts from a store online, and emailed the gunsmith and he said I might need a "tighten job". I do notice that after a few shots, the locking ring will come a bit loose. I assumed it was due to the missing part. What is entailed in a "tighten job" and could it be necessary on top of replacing the missing spring and plunger? Thanks for any assistance and if this is in the wrong forum, apologies and moderators please feel free to tidy up |
