| I'd like to get my hands on something like that. Let us know, I haven't received my magazine yet.

| It's a custom-built CENTERFIRE rifle and specially loaded ammo. ![]()

| What are the conditions? Let's get real (Dr. Phil quote). A half mile is a very long distance (just check out how many yards make a mile). What about wind drift that affects even the U.S. Army sniper with a .300 Winchester Magnum custom loaded with annealed cases? Also, at extreme ranges even one gram of powder charge makes a difference. Note they are working with what I consider phenominal velocity that will rapidly wear the barrel to the point accuracy loss. This is a custom job for a special result. If you can afford it and want it then you should go after it but do spend a little time thinking about the downsides. | A half-mile .22 eh? I suppose someone had to invent it sooner or later. Have they figured out what it's good for yet? |

| 1/2 mile=880yds, 22 centerfires with heavy bullets will perform well at that distance and beyond. |

| I'd have to agree with Troy... no need to waste perfectly good expensive ammo, such as .22 shorts, on mere .5 mile shots. Better to chuck a very inexpensive, yet lethal rock. |

| Ok, but everything is relative What's a heavy bullet for a .22 caliber rifle? And what's the downrange performance? Paper targets and rats are easy to kill. I wonder how it does on varmints or larger at 1/2 mile. .22 shorts and rocks worked pretty well when I was a teenager but my arm aint what it used to be....... |

| depends on the varmint. heavy bullets are 70+ grains with a high BC. ive smoked prarie dogs at just shy of 700yds with 50gr HP's from a .223. i wouldnt try it on larger animals, cuz its way too easy to miss at those distances. |
