Thumbs up My 10/22

Nothing spectactular:

Just a fine little stainless shooter with 4x Simmons scope...shoots the middle out of clay targets at 100 yds all day long....

Been collecting the 25 rd steel feed lip "Butler Creek" mags before the next ban while their cheap.
Been looking for a used blue one to put on a "Krinker Plinker" set up....

The 10/22 is my favorite rim-fire rifle to shoot. It still amazes me how accurate, dependable and easy to clean they are.

How much is a new basic, stock gun?

I looked on wal mart, and it was like 232, then there was on that said "Carbine" for 180, why is the "carbine" so cheap? Looks the same to me.

Mine is the "Wal-Mart Special" 10-22 rifle, with SS finish 22 inch barrel and larger rifle-style stock - it fits us bigguns better.
Nothing great for accuracy - I bought it to compare a 'new' .22 rifle to my old ones. The oldies most generally out-shoot it.
I also find the 10-22 prone to failing when dirty.
My only mods are a polished trigger group and lighter spring, and a refinished stock - had to get rid of that horrid factory finish - it hid a nice piece of birchwood! She's a foxy blonde now . . .

Bigdog's Ruger 10-22 . . .

5 years ago I bought a K10/22 rifle from Wally world. Soon after went through a divorce and have yet to shoot it. It is still in the box wrapped up as it came. I have a couple old bolt actions that I shoot. One Remington bolt and one winchester bolt. Bought the ruger because a guy at my club could regularly out shoot me with a 10.22. I am going to have to get that thing out, clean it up and see how she shoots. Prices have gone up a bit but not so much as to loose too much value for shooting it. 22s are just plain made to be shot!
