.22 Huntmaster model 33 - Need info

I have an old Huntmaster Model 33 pump .22 that I cannot find any information on. I have had the gun for about 20 years, I believe it was my grandfathers gun. Any help understanding when it was made, who made it, and its value would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I appreciate the help. I hunt a little (not as much as i would like) and look forward to getting back into it full speed later in life. I have little ones to raise - they require most of my money. Money well spent!

Welcome Pdowden..
The Rifle you have ,the model 33 Huntmaster (Sears) was one made by J.C. Higgins co. according to the Blue book. Normally, other companies produced the J.C. Higgins brand for Sears, like Stevens,Savage,Mossberg, Marlin, etc....but in this case, they were 1 of 3 models made by JCH. somewhere between 1946-1962.
As far as value...Only shooting value as not much collector interest, but if the gun is in very good shape you can figure 125-150 dollars.
I hope this helps...
Rich

Thank you for the info on the gun. It is in poor shape and I wanted to try and restore it but did not want to ruin it by doing so. It will be a fun project this winter.

That will be a good one to practice on due to its non-collectable status...Good Luck.

Huntmaster model 33

pdowden I just got my compuier & saw your post on a Huntmaster 33. I saw a Huntmaster model 33a about a week ago & started
looking for information.
The 1952 Shooters Bible shows a Noble model 33 receiver is drilled & tapped for a Mossberg scope.
Gun Traders 15th edition lists Noble model 33 w/Tenite stock & slide handle from 1949-1953.
Model 33a from 1953-1956 same as model 33 except has wood stock slide handle. No mention of Huntmaster 33 but looks like a Noble model 33. Know this is late but thought you would like the information.
