| Re-finish 22 semi.....in black! I stripped down the wood stock and painted it flat black. Aside from slightly filling in some checkered areas; it came out nice.....at least i think so. enjoy the pics.............. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by joe vt; 02-01-2008 at 12:05 PM. | Looks awesome! Very clean! Does that happen to be a Marlin .22? Just curious...

| Senior Member | Nice gun and nice bows, I like archery especialy when finances get tight. I have an old bear compound, after taking of all the crap that was on it I can actualy hit something (Idont like sights on my bow), I have new draw strings put on it every year. |

| DId you put any sort of finish or lacquer over the paint? not an expert but i would imagine just flat black paint might rub or chip off fairly easily....looks great though nice job...ive never redone one in black |

| again, thanks for the compliments.........the paint is a outdoor type so i did not spray a finish over it. i removed the old finish and roughed up the wood pretty good then wiped it down with finger-nail polish remover before spraying. that gave it good adhesion. my brother took out 4 ground hogs with it last fall...they kept eating his garden and a pellet gun won't deter them........the marlin did though.....permanently ! i recieved my Henry.....WOW what a smooth lever action. can't wait to throw some lead with it. |
