| Found Some Ammo
After a WIERD discussion with a guy at Ammo King, I picked up a brick of Lapua Pistol Match. The Wolf Match was just a little cheaper ($4), but the guy told me it wasn't as good. Then he tells me it is made by Lapua for Wolf! Then he tells me that the UAA Biathlon Team shoots Lapua Rifle Match. As if THAT's a resounding endorsement! And what does their RIFLE ammo have to do with my PISTOL? Started me wondering tho. What does the US Oympic Biathlon Team Shoot?

Don't know for sure, but I'd bet neither one of us could afford it. IMHO, unless you are shooting in matches, buying expensive match grade ammo is a waste of money. I've shot 1.5 in groups at 100 yds with plain ole AE just fine with a 10/22 Target model. Now you have me wondering what they shoot. |

| Looks like it is Lapua Polar Biathlon .22 and Lapua pays the team to use it. US BIATHLON Only $30 a box. .22 Long Rifle 335 Polar Biathlon - 4317023 by: Lapua - Ron |

Glad I don't have to pay for that! And it's not even their most expensive! Now if someone wants to buy me a case...

CCI Standard shoots as good as I am able to - anything better would just be wasted. Federal used to have a good match .22LR ammo, but discontinued it. I guess the Olympic Team had to go overseas for good ammo.

Yep Big Dog, there has to be a cut off where WE cannot do the ammo justice. It's been YEARS since I shot a 22! Just coming full circle in my old age I guess. I am re-educating myself whats out there. I've known Lapua is BIG in Europe for years. The Germans LOVE it in any caliber. So do all the Scandinavians for obvious reasons! Their prices are prohibitive to most of us Yankees, yet of all the brass I've owned, I can say definitively, Lapua is THE very best I've owned, except some Weatherby brass made by Norma, which was like artwork when it came to max deviation in weight.
