There has to be more members with 22 rim fires ! I am beyond impressed with the results of this Thread and what people own and say about there 22's .

Feel free to tell any storys about them, some here were passed down from family members.
All history is welcomed.

Oh... In my post one of the 22's has a little history. Back in 1986 I was cleaning my Rem. 742...30-06 after a day Deer hunting with it and the little ole lady next door came over for some reason to see my wife.
She saw what I was doing and said she had a gun rapped in a sheet that belonged to her son who was killed in a auto accident back in the mid 1930's.
She went on to say it probably needed cleaning too.
I ask her to go get it and she did and it turned out to be the Remington TargetMaster it was in very good condition and I ask her if she would sell it and she said she would.
The next day I called around to see what it was worth and everybody said on the high end $75.00 so I gave her a hundred I think or 75 I don't remember.
It is very accurate single shot rifle my son grew up shooting...A.H

A person can never have too many 22s.

Rifles: An old H. Pieper falling block single shot, a Marlin M39A, a Browning Pump Rifle, a Savage auto loader (I don't recall the model number right now it is in storage else where). And a new model of the Steven/Savage favorite.

Handguns: Stoeger Luger, Ruger Gov't Target Model, Browning BuckMark, Ruger Single Six.

Looks like I need to add a few to each catagory.

Stevens Favorite [gun produced the first year 1894, received as a 8th grade graduation present from my dad] barrel very worn, shot bird/shoot like a shot gun, LOL oldest gun.
Winchester 1890 .22 long 16th B-day gift, has one of the tightest barrels I got, nice gun, 1909 era.
Remington 12A [story] My family friends let me have this gun to clean up for them, it was stored away for 50 or so years, it was a fun clean up for me! Later on, the husband passed on and his wife gave the gun to my dad, who later gave it to me. It's stored and ready to shoot!
H&R 165 Leatherneck [story] My dad picked this and the Stevens Favorite up from a family friend, he was hoping that one of the guns was going to be a .38 spec. revolver that the man kept for himself for his move from Mo. to Az. This gun was off limits to us kids, it was found to jam after a few shots and dad was ready to sell it. I told my cousin about the problems we had, he told us about the CCI Mini Mags which worked out to be the way to go. No more jams. Well now we have all these neat "hot" rounds, viper, stingers etc. Well one year my dad got my name for Christmas, low and behold, I now have this really neat gun! Thanks Dad! He was a USMC in WWII. He told my brothers and me about the Reisen .45 sub gun that he train with along with all the others.
Ruger 10/22 deluxe sporter [story] I bought a standard model 10-22 at a grocery store, my youngest brother bought my other brothers 10-22 sporter deluxe. He wanted a 10-22 that could use the Tri-fire system, the sporter stock didn't work so I got to trade for the nicer older fancy-ier 10-22. later on a friend had bought a stainless steel model withe the laminated full length stock. He tricked it out with a bull barrel and stock. I asked him to sell me the parts he no longer needed. Now I have a "new" sst=stainless barrel! The earlier years I tried the hand crank activator, to shoot fast with the 50 round mags!
Ruger single six converter old model [story] My first revolver, dad said we would not have a pistol, hi-power gun or motor bike, I got the Ruger at 17 the .30-06 at 15 and dad got a bike when I was 21. LOL One great gun to have!!!! On ground hog day in 1971, my dog pulled a GH out of it's hole. I had my double barrel and the Ruger. I pulled Mitzy away from the GH and bared the shotgun, it was too close, I pulled the Ruger out and shot all 6 rounds into the GH. It took all 6. I had stocked up on longs and that's what I had loaded up with that day. Not the best .22 to kill a GH. Back then the 1000fps .22 round was not the standard. My dog did her job and the Ruger did hers.
Remington 10C Mohawk [story] I had walked up to the gun counter at wally world back in 1972, there set a rifle I had dreamed of for 8 to 10 years. It was on clearance for $40.00. Wow, what if I had enough to buy all 5 of them? Well, I had $25 and I got my friends to loan me the rest. A great gun you can toss in the car and go...
Iver Johnson TP-22 [story] I shot this small pistol and thought, Gee I can't hit anything, get rid of it. Well, one day I did the point and shoot thing, wow I started hitting everything!!! Really, I kept it and it's one I carry any time we go out shooting. Small and a blast to shoot.
Norinco ATD-22 [Browning knockoff] Neat gun, I saw a deflector that I need to buy, when I shoot this rifle, the empties go out the bottom, where I have my arm, this deflector looks to kick the empties out of the way! cool gun!!!
Ruger MK-II Target, fun and very accurate!!!
Taurus Model 63 stainless, fun and very accurate!!!

TMBJAK my Dad only cussed me twice in his life time...The first time I ran from him and his belt.
I ran into my bedroom and tried to slam the door and as I was trying to push it closed with my shoulder up I looked up and my daddys head was stuck between the door edge and door jamb !!! I had slamed the door on his head !!!
I jump back fearing the worst, I could see the crease's on both sides of his fat head that the door had made.
All he said was... you little Bastard I oughta tare your butt up and with that he walked away LMAO !!!! I thought I was dead !!!!
